Disability Living Allowance (DLA) is a benefit payable to people with a disability, to help them fund the extra costs they incur because of such disability. It is paid at two different rates, depending upon the additional help required.
Rates of Disability Living Allowance
The rate eligible claimants receive in DLA benefit varies depending on circumstances and whether they are an adult or child – what’s more, adult awards are split into two categories as follows:
- Category 1
Care Component – there are three levels of payments which are:
Low = £21.55
Middle = £54.45
High = £81.30
- Category 2 Mobility Component – there are two levels of payment which are:
Low = £21.55
High = £56.25
Child DLA ranges from £21.55 up to £138.05 depending upon how much assistance the individual youngster requires.
