One of the market leaders in personal and business delivery solutions, is owned by Deutsche Post and has its main head offices in Bonn, Germany.

DHL’s UK operations are based at Orbital Park in Hounslow, with smaller offices and depots around the country.

Dealing with almost every aspect of distribution, under their DHL Express brand the company caters for both personal and corporate clients. For individuals, they offer a variety of same day shipping options both domestically and abroad, while businesses can benefit from their range of logistics solutions.

The scope of DHL’s network means that they are able to provide door-to-door coverage for around 200 countries, and the company proudly boasts on their website they have the most comprehensive network of its kind. They manage this by using their own fleet of branded planes, trucks, ships and trains – though these are mainly used for their freight services.

Internationally, their main competitors are considered to be FedEx, though in Britain the market is dominated by Royal Mail through their Special Delivery service. More recent newcomers such as DPD, UK Mail and Interlink have also made gains through offering similar solutions at lower price points.
