Based out of head offices in Cardiff, Admiral is one of the UK’s largest providers of insurance and is currently responsible for the policies of around 3 million customers. Though specialising in car insurance, the company has branched out into offering home, travel and pet cover, among other products.

Founded in 1993, it has consistently been included in the Sunday Times list of Companies To Work For, as well as being a multiple winner of Welsh Company of the Year.

Under the supervision of CEO Henry Engelhardt, the company has gone from strength the strength, and has gained much publicity through its sponsorship of the Wales national rugby union team, as well as its television adverts featuring animated Russian dolls.

Though many companies have struggled in the face of price comparison websites, Admiral is one of the few who have capitalised upon this change in the market – historically having their customer-base made up of sections of society who suffered higher premier rates (students, younger drivers and those living in urban areas), websites such as CompareTheMarket.com and MoneySupermarket.com have allowed the business to insure a wider range of motorists thanks to their lower prices.

One product which sets Admiral apart from its competitors is Admiral MultiCar, which offers 2 or more people who live together in the same household the chance to be able to take out a single insurance policy for everyone.
